the general concept:

the "cicada killer" wasp

the preliminary drawing, cicada added.

(both animals caught in our backyard)

color added, except the blue:

every blue pencil i bought for this project was broken inside. 

i wasn't sure about adding blue anyway

final

the wasp and cicada stand out better without the blue i think,

but overall it seems kind of bland and unfinished.

not a total failure, but appropriately inadequate.
